Télécoms Sans Frontières improves satellite communication in the Sahel

Télécoms Sans Frontières (TSF) is supporting the work of the UN and NGOs in the Sahel region through the installation of satellite connections and communication centres. Thanks to TSF’s humanitarian Hub, the different humanitarian organisations in the region will be able to coordinate and share information more efficiently to reinforce their response toward refugees. TSF ensures the communication with the teams and the transmission of crucial data during missions in isolated areas by using a so-called Bgan connection; this will also help to transmit vital data needed to carry out emergency programs to combat malnutrition and food insecurity. In Niger, 5 satellite connections installed by TSF have been working for already 5 months, ensuring constant communication and a higher quality of the coordination to deal with situations of emergency and crisis.
