The United Nations Program for Development is the agency of the UN system, advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. UNDP operates in 177 countries and territories, working with governments and people to help them find their own solutions to global and national development challenges. UNDP has worked in El Salvador since 1975 and established cooperation programmes in line with national priorities.
The National Geographic and Land Registry Institute in El Salvador (ICGN) aims to develop the official maps folowing the territorial delimitation with neighboring countries, departments and municipalities in the country. In addition, the Institute develops cartographic maps that display geographic information including contours, water bodies and rivers, and demarcation of coastal areas.
IGCN is an agency of the National Records Center responsible for research and geographical studies including the development of cartographic and cadastral maps.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of El Salvador (Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería - MAG) governs all activities carried out by the State in regard to agriculture and livestock and with regard to fishing and aquaculture. As in all countries, this Ministry is responsible for promoting the export of agricultural produce in combination with the support of agriculture for local consumption and subsistence agriculture which is typical in developing countries.

The Ministry of Public Works, Transport, Housing and Urban Development (Ministerio de Obras Públicas, Transporte, Vivienda y Desarrollo Urbano - MOP) is responsible for all public roads in El Salvador. The Ministry encourages good land management to promote better structured development. The Land Information System built is among the most important projects that MOP has implemented.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador's mission is to exercise diplomatic relations open to the world, promote development and cooperation; consular relations and promote the protection of the rights of Salvadorans abroad.
Its main activities include regional integration, development cooperation, economic relations and institutional strengthening.
The State of El Salvador has established in 2011 the Secretariat for Vulnerability Issues of the Presidency of El Salvador (SAV) with the mandate to implement actions necessary to prevent and eradicate vulnerability that the country faces with regards to natural and human-caused phenomena.
