The European Space Agency, in the context of the Scientific Exploitation of Operational Missions (SEOM) element, is organising an event dedicated to prepare for scientific exploitation of the Sentinel-3 mission, entitled "Sentinel-3 for Science Workshop", which will be hosted in Venice -Lido Palazzo del Casinò, Italy, from 02 – 05 June 2015.

Mandalay Institute of Technology initially pursued undergraduate courses in the fields of science and engineering. On 1st July 1998, MIT was renamed to Mandalay Technological University (MTU). Later, to offer a wider variety of degrees, MTU introduced post graduate programmes for talent and highly motivated graduates.
To promote the effectiveness and success in the development of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology was established on 2 October 1996.The Ministry of Science and Technology is based on the Myanmar Science and Technology Research Department which carries out research and development work for the development of the nation’s industry since 1954.
The National Council for Science and Technology is the governing body in the field of scientific and technological progress, and it is responsible for the promotion and coordination of scientific and technological activities carried out by the National Science and Technology. It is also responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the Plan of Scientific and Technological Development.
