Super cyclone Maysak captured from the International Space Station

In late March 2015, Typhoon Maysak, known locally as Chedeng, approached the norther Philippines. Typhoon Maysak strengthened into a super typhoon on March 31, reaching Category 5 hurricane status.

NASA satellites track Hurricane Arthur from Space

Hurricane Arthur captured by NASA on 4 July.

Several satellites kept track and monitored Hurricane Arthur from the initial phases to the development of a Hurricane and to a post-tropical storm.

On 29 June 2014, a low-pressure area in the center east of Florida developed. That area evolved afterward into Tropical Depression 1, captured on June 30 by the MODIS instrument aboard NASA's Aqua satellite.

The first storm of the Atlantic hurricane season, Tropical Storm Andrea started on the late afternoon of June 5th, 2013 with a low pressure and continued throughout the whole week over the southeast of Gulf of Mexico. The storm had weakened considerably but it is still packed enough to effect Florida's Gulf coast and still carries very heavy rains causing flooding.
