Expert mission in Salvador 2015

The mission allowed UN-SPIDER to re-visit El Salvador after the technical advisory mission (TAM) conducted in 2014 and to follow-up on on-going efforts.

The mission allowed UN-SPIDER to re-visit El Salvador after the technical advisory mission (TAM) conducted in 2014 and to follow-up on on-going efforts. The mission was used to provide more than 350 maps of the VCI and the SVI (drought indexes) to the Directorate of Civil Protection and to the Environmental Observatory of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of El Salvador. Another aim was the participation in the meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for starting the consolidation of the inter-institutional technical team and to raise awareness regarding UN-SPIDER and the SEWS-D Project to relevant institutions in the country. 

The mission was used to distribute the updated VCI and SVI maps and to promote the establishment of the inter-institutional team and to provide continuity to the SEWS-D project.
