3rd Conference “Earth Observations for Sustainable Development and Security” GEO-UA 2012
The 3d Ukrainian Conference GEO-UA will be held within the Space Forum, which also features The 4th International Specialized Symposium «Space and Global Security of the Humanity» and The 12th Ukrainian Conference on Space Research, in Evpatoria (Crimea, Ukraine) on September 3-7, 2012.
The goal of the Conference is to discuss the prospects of aero- and space-born data utilization for natural resource management, sustainable development and security in the framework of GEOSS, GMES, UN-SPIDER INSPIRE activities and development of the Ukrainian segment of GEOSS — a GEO-UA system. International researchers and experts interested in Earth observation data applications will have the opportunity to present and discuss results and ideas with the focus on the following areas:
- Disaster management within UN-SPIDER: flooding, forest fires, water, air and soil pollution;
- Understanding and adapting to climate variability and change;
- Management and protection of ecosystems;
- Sea and ocean problems;
- Performance evaluation and prediction of crop yield (food security);
Developers of GIS-systems and satellite monitoring systems are invited to take part in the exhibition during the Conference.
