The satellite industry has been ensuring broad connectivity and service continuity for public and private users during the COVID-19 pandemic. Satellite application is being used to enable communications between workers, between families and friends, and between teachers and students via various distance communication and learning tools. Space borne technology can also support humanitarian missions by connecting first responders. It can enable telehealth solutions, by helping identify potentially affected patients, exchanging information with central hospitals and ensuring connectivity to essential services. It can monitor changes on earth through earth observation data and remote sensing. Satellite technologies can also be used to measure the economic impact of an outbreak and the rate of recovery by tracking the movements of goods.
