The 43rd Regional Training Course on Disaster Management will take place on 4-22 November 2013 in Bangkok. Organized by Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), this training course aims to provide necessary and fundamental knowledge and skills on disater risk management in order to enhance the capabilities of disaster managers to reduce the impact of disastrous events on communities. The subjects covered in the DMC cut across multi-hazard, multi-level, multi-agency, and multi-disciplinary facets, and address both event-related activities as well as those that need to be undertaken on a day-to-day basis prior to the occurence of disaster events.
This training course is very suitable for government officials engaged in disaster management policy and plans formulation and implementation, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) / International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), international and ocal Non-governmental organizations (NGOs), NGOs involved in the areas of disaster risk reduction, staff from training institutes and other agencies responsible for knowledge dissemination on disaster risk reduction and management, and persons involved in coordination of disaster management activities, staffs of UN agencies.
During the three weeks, the participants will be guided through several course methodologies in order to gain a sound grasp of disaster risk management processes.
