Digital Globe: First complete satellite imagery base map of Africa now available

All african countries are covered in the first complete satellite imagery base map of the continent. (Image: NASA)

DigitalGlobe announced on 28 April 28 the first complete and consistent high resolution satellite imagery base map for Africa. The map is unique through its high level of detail: a 50 cm ground resolution for all countries in Africa. It is the first map that covers the whole continent and not only small areas of interest.

Satellite navigation: New office for Africa-Europe cooperation

UN-SPIDER Knowledge Portal now available in French

Selected elements and sections of the UN-SPIDER Knowledge Portal are now available in French. This new language version complements the existing English and Spanish versions of the website.

The goal of this new feature is to allow users from French-speaking countries, such as many countries in Africa, to browse relevant content in their language thus enhancing the outreach of the Portal. The user can easily switch between language by using the language buttons at the upper right corner of each page.

More elements and texts in French will become availabe in the future.
