Mandalay Institute of Technology initially pursued undergraduate courses in the fields of science and engineering. On 1st July 1998, MIT was renamed to Mandalay Technological University (MTU). Since its foundation, the university has continued to grow and develop to meet the changing requirements of Science and Technology. Later, to offer a wider variety of degrees, MTU introduced post graduate programmes for talent and highly motivated graduates. Courses have continued to expand in several emerging areas such as Mechatronic, Information Technology, Aerospace, Metallurgy, Textile, Petroleum, Mining and Biotechnology. Today, MTU is solely taking a leading role as a postgraduate research centre in science and technology.
