The UN-SPIDER Knowledge Portal is your one-stop platform for resources on space-based disaster risk management. It provides: • Links and guidance on satellite data sources and applications • Recommended practices and step-by-step methodologies • Training materials and tutorials • Case studies and user stories from real-world applications • News and updates on UN-SPIDER activities, events, and global developments
Since its last major review in 2012, the Portal has evolved significantly. Now, we want to hear from you.
We invite you to take part in the 2025 evaluation of the UN-SPIDER Knowledge Portal!
More than 60 humanitarian networks and partnerships are invited to hold their meetings and organize joint sessions at the "Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Week" (HNPW). HNPW 2024 will be held in a hybrid format from April 29 to May 10, 2024. The first week (April 29 to May 3) will be held remotely, while the second week (May 6 to May 10) will be organized face-to-face at the CICG in Geneva.
Nine areas of common concern will be addressed for inter-network collaboration. These are:
1. Accountability to Affected Populations
2. Anticipatory Action
3. Climate Crisis
4. Emergency Response in a Pandemic
5. Inclusion
6. Integrating Security Risk Management in Humanitarian Action
7. Localization
8. Nexus
9. Organizational Culture and Power Relations
1. Invited persons: Invitations will be sent directly by the networks and partnerships to their members and stakeholders for the sessions they organize.
2. Persons who did not receive an invitation: Most sessions will be open for public access, allowing those without invitations to register and attend.
