INAM is part of the Ministry for Transportation and Communication (MTC). provides daily weather forecasts (twice a day) to the public and INGC. Next to this forecasts, seasonal outlooks (especially before the rainy season) on expected precipitation and cyclone activity are communicated to INGC and other departments. The regional seasonal outlook is downscaled for Mozambique by INAM and an interpretation is provided to the different users.
INAM is equipped with a Meteosat receiving station (EUMETSAT), allowing access to near-real time information, which is updated every 15 minutes.
