The Indian Space Research Organisation ISRO will launch a navigation satellite on 10 October, as the news agency ANI reported. The satellite IRNSS 1C is the third one to be launched in a formation of seven. Together, the seven satellites will form the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System.
ANI further reported: "IRNSS will provide Standard Positioning Service and Restricted Service with a position accuracy of better than 20 meters in the 1500 kilometers area covering the Indian peninsula.This will provide terrestrial, aerial and marine navigation accurately and help disaster management, vehicle tracking and fleet management, mobile phone tracking, mapping of terrain as well as air and sea navigation."
