OPIDIN is an Early Warning System developed for the communities in the Inner Niger delta. Within the months of August and October, OPIDIN uses modeling and spatial analysis to predict both extreme flooding events and how the general water level will behave in a given year. This information is important for inhabitants in the floodplains, farmers, fisheries, and transportation services.
