Theme: 'Resilient leadership is critical to building effective disaster and emergency intervention'
The Strengthening Leadership in Disaster Resilience Program (SLDRP), a program at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), Ho, Volta Region, will run a Certificate Course in Disaster Resilience Leadership. This is divided into two modules. The first module will be offered from 22nd-28th September 2013 and the second module from 9th-15th February 2014. Acceptance into the first module confirms automatic participation in the second module of training.
Applicants should have:
A bachelors degree
Worked in an NGO in the field of disaster risk management and disaster risk reduction
Worked in a job as Chief Director/Director or Senior officer in a critical national disaster institution
Worked in a the media/private sector position that is closely linked to disaster response or disaster risk reduction
Must have more than four years of work ahead of him before retirement

Tuition Remarks:
The course tuition, full board accommodation and reasonable transportation costs to and from the hotel venue would be covered by the University of Health and Allied Sciences and its foremost partner Tulane University.

The second meeting of the global network of basins working on climate change adaptation, which is organized in the framework of the UNECE Convention on the Protection and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes (Water Convention) with the cooperation of the International Network of Basin Organizations (INBO), will offer a platform for comparing methodologies and approaches, fostering exchange of experience and promoting a shared vision between the participating basins.
