Description:
This 5-day course will cover basic and advanced InSAR theories, InSAR processing with JPL/Caltech InSAR Scientific Computing Environment (ISCE), and time-series InSAR processing with interferometric products generated by different processing centers.
Brief Agenda:
- 1/3 day: InSAR theory
- 2/3 day: Stripmap InSAR processing with ISCE including lab exercises and discussion of ionospheric corrections
- 1/2 day: TOPS InSAR processing with ISCE including lab exercises and ionospheric corrections
- 1/2 day: Post-processing radar data products with GDAL
- 1/3 day: Accessing data from processed InSAR archives
- 1/3 day: Manipulation of data from archives including lab exercises
- 1/3 day: Troposphere corrections for InSAR and preparing InSAR data for modeling including lab exercises
- 1/3 day: Time-series analysis theory
- 2/3 day: Time-series analysis exercise with interferogram products from an archive
- 1/2 day: Processing your own data and processing InSAR stacks with ISCE
Prerequisite, Computers and Data:
- Students will be expected to know basic Unix/Linux command line usage and basic Python programming, and have done basic InSAR processing in the past.
- Students should review materials from 2015 and 2016 InSAR Processing with ISCE, GIAnt, and StaMPS training courses.
- Students should review online documentation and tutorial materials available for ISCE.
- Students must apply for WInSAR data access through their university representative if they don't already have a WInSAR account. In addition, it would be helpful if participants apply for access NASA earthdata account and are able to access ALOS PALSAR and Sentinel-1 datasets via ASF.
- Participants will use their own laptop computer to access virtual machines where the software will be installed, and should have Python3 installed.
- Participants should be able to attend a Webinar focused on installation of pre-requisite software like ISCE, to be conducted 3-4 weeks before the short course.
