UN Mappers Training: OpenStreetMap and Humanitarian Mapping

UN Mappers has announced a new training program on OpenStreetMap and humanitarian mapping in English, which is set to start soon. The program will cover a range of topics related to mapping for humanitarian and development actions.
The training will cover several key topics including:
Presentation of the "UN Maps" initiative
Presentation of the OSM project, its governance, and how to join the community
OpenStreetMap and humanitarian and development action
OSM cartography with satellite imagery in urban and rural areas
OSM mapping in the field with smartphones
OSM data retrieval in various formats
At the end of the training, UN Maps will not provide certificates of attendance, but only "Certificates of completion" for trainees who have met the following requirements:
Attend at least 60% of the online sessions
Pass the required quizzes from the UN Maps Learning Hub
Create the new OSM objects specified by the trainer after each session
Begin the homework assessment process in the Learning Hub during the week after the training ends. This may require correcting OSM objects that have not been mapped correctly
Participating and mapping during a UN Maps mapathon
Organizing a local OSM event is a bonus that would be added to the certificate.
The training will begin on May 4 and will be open to anyone interested in learning about OpenStreetMap and humanitarian mapping. Registration is currently open and will close on April 30th.
