22 Asian countries agree on common disaster management procedures

At the 3rd international Medical Emergency Forum (IMEF), an agency under the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), 22 Asian Countries, amongst them Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and the Philippines, agreed to share Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to improve disaster management in the region.

85 delegates from 22 countries attended the conference, held in Bandar Utama, Malaysia, to exchange experiences encountered during disasters and to mutually learn how to improve their management.

In conjunction with the conference, several papers will be presented by representatives of countries that have experienced environmental destruction caused by tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and landslides.
