Airbus Defence and Space and Exelis have partnered to streamline guaranteed access to both companies' geospatial imagery.
As decided by the two partners, the users of Exelis' ENVI image analysis software will benefit from Airbus worldwide imagery data by the end of the year. Thanks to a downloadable plugin, ENVI users will be able to find data and preview images without leaving the software. The agreement will allow users to employ both new and existing imagery of Geographic Information System (GIS) layers.
This cooperative pact ensures ENVI costumers to access Airbus' Geo-Intelligence imagery archive, as well as optical and radar imagery such as 1.5 m SPOT 6 and SPOT 7 and 50 cm Pléiades information. ENVI's General Manager Stuart Blundell, announced: "By letting ENVI users easily identify and geo-locate thumbnail previews of available imagery within an area of interest without leaving the ENVI environment, our customers will save time and make better decisions in mission and project planning and execution. This integrated approach modernizes the way that people will discover data and access new imagery in conjunction with their existing imagery or GIS layers".
