The Tsunami Global Lessons Learned Project (TGLLP) in partnership with the Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC) has prepared a disaster recovery toolkit targeting practitioners responsible for implementing recovery programmes. The objective is to provide a ‘how to’ guide on development, implementing and managing complex post-disaster recovery programmes.
TGLLP was created in the aftermath of the 2004 earthquake and tsunami in the Indian Ocean. With a view to gathering, learning from and sharing experiences of this and other disasters in the region that occurred until 1993, the project seeks to deliver three principle outcomes: a global lessons learned study, a Discovery Channel documentary tracking the recovery, and the toolkit.
