Processing Satellite Imagery for Monitoring Water Quality

English

Free advanced webinar from the Applied Remote Sensing Training (ARSET)  programme at NASA.

This webinar series will help to perform advanced image processing of satellite data. It also incorporates the learning about using satellites to track indicators of harmful algal blooms. This will include monitoring water temperature and chlorophyll-a concentrations. Finally,  the information course can be use for reporting around UN SDG 6.

Change Detection for Land Cover Mapping

English

Land cover changes can impact many areas of life. These changes can affect deforestation, ecological communities, wildfire extent, and urban growth. This advanced series focused on using satellite imagery to map changes in land cover. Users will learn change detection methods, including image subtraction and classification. They will also conduct their own change detection analysis. This training will use QGIS, the R statistical program, and the Random Forest algorithm.

Satellite Remote Sensing

Undefined

This is a new online course on satellite remote sensing made available by the European Space Agency. The course allows exploring our planet from space and learning how Earth observation is used to monitor climate change.

In this free online course, you will join leading experts and scientists from ESA and key European research centres, to explore the science that underpins Earth observation. You will look at recent and current satellite missions that are providing an archive of essential data, and find out how this data is used in local and international policy and planning.
