The Workshop will address the role of human capacity-building in the domains of space science, technology and its applications in support of sustainable development, with a particular focus on developing and emerging countries.
The event is organized by the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs and the Samara National Research University. The event is co-sponsored by the European Space Agency (ESA).

The head of the UN-SPIDER Beijing Office, Shirish Ravan, visited the UN Affiliated Centre for Space Science Technology Education in Asia and the Pacific (CSSTEAP), in Dehradun, India, on 25 August 2015; to interact with 24 international students attending Post Graduate Diploma in Remote Sensing and GIS. During the ceremony, the participants briefed about their background and how they would be using knowledge gained from this training course in their respective office in their home country.
