The Geological Mining and Metallurgical Institute (INGEMMET), is a Specialized Public Technical Agency of the Energy and Mining Sector of Peru, with legal status of internal public law, autonomy, administrative and economic technique, which aims to obtain, store, record, process , administration and efficient dissemination of geoscientific information and that related to basic geology, subsoil resources, geological risks and the geoenvironment.
Mandalay Institute of Technology initially pursued undergraduate courses in the fields of science and engineering. On 1st July 1998, MIT was renamed to Mandalay Technological University (MTU). Since its foundation, the university has continued to grow and develop to meet the changing requirements of Science and Technology. Later, to offer a wider variety of degrees, MTU introduced post graduate programmes for talent and highly motivated graduates.
SEGENA was transformed into the Ecuadoran Institute for geological, mining and metallurgical research (INIGEMM) on the 29th of January, 2009. INIGEM’s main mission is to generate, organize and manage scientific and technological information on geological, mining and metallurgical issues at the national level, to assist in a territorial planning oriented towards a sustainable development of the mining resources and a preventive management of geological hazards.
