UN-SPIDER Technical Advisory Mission to Cameroon

In October 2010, the Government of Cameroon, represented by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, Department of Civil Protection, officially requested a UN-SPIDER Technical Advisory Mission to assess the use of space-based technology and information for disaster management and emergency response in Cameroon, identify potential areas where space-based technology and information could play a greater role, and propose recommendations on how to improve Cameroon's access to and use of space-based technology and information.

Supporting projects addressing climate change issues and associated disaster risk reduction: The Planet Action Initiative

This paper gives an overview of the Planet Action (PA) non-profit collaborative initiative with particular focus on its project support activities. PA was launched in 2007 to encourage the Earth observation and geographic information professional communities to help NGOs, local institutions and universities tackle climate change in a new cooperative approach.


Planet Action: Call for Projects - Fighting the climate crisis

Planet Action provides satellite imagery, geographic information and technology support to local projects that investigate and assess climate change issues focusing on human issues, drought & desertification, water resources, forestry, biodiversity, oceans, ice, and awareness.

This year, Planet Action will support additional projects while following up on current projects and their results on the ground. Join them in fighting the climate crisis!
