The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMA) exists to provide efficient and reliable meteorological information by collecting, processing, archiving Analysing and dissemination of findings/meteorological information to end users.
The Department of Meteorology in Sri Lanka is in charge of providing services pertaining to Meteorology, Aeronautical Meteorology, Ocean Meteorology, Hydro Meteorology, Agricultural Meteorology, Climatology and Astronomy to government agencies, the private sector and the general public.
Realizing and understanding the role of meteorological services for socio-economic planning and the development of the country, the Department of Meteorology was established on 1 July 1980 as an independent office reporting to the President’s Office. The Department of Meteorology remained functioning under the Head of State’s Office until November 1993. After that, through the government’s restructuring Act, the Ministry of Planning, Human Resources and Environment was created and the Meteorological Department was brought under that Ministry.
The INOCAR is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and monitoring the technical and administrative activities related to the Service of Hydrographic, Navigation, Oceanography, Meteorology, Marine Sciences, Marine Signalling and the management of the material used for these activities.
The Dominican Meteorological Office aims to develop, implement and provide meteorological services that are within the jurisdiction of the State. It is the national regulator of research and production of meteorological information.
The Department of Meteorology of Burkina Faso has jurisdiction over all the matters related to meteorology and its applications in Burkina Faso. It was created on December 30th, 1972 to manage the national meteorological activities in Upper Volta.
