Copernicus is the European flagship programme for monitoring the Earth, using a combination of satellite and ground (in-situ) sensors. Next to the Space segment, encompassing the fleet of Sentinel satellites and a number of contributing missions, the programme includes six operational core services, managed by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW).
The Land Monitoring Core Service (LMCS) processes Earth Observation data in order to provide qualified added-value products and information about the land surface while ensuring continuity and timely delivery to a broad range of users.
