Geospatial and Mapping Sciences from the University of Glasgow is an innovative, industry-sponsored programme. Developed in close collaboration with employers to meet global demand for professionals in the field, it is designed to prepare students for a variety of careers in geomatics, including hydrographic surveying; land registration/cadastre and LIS; photogrammetric and remote sensing engineering and management of geospatial information. Meeting the academic requirements for membership of relevant professional bodies, the programme is further accredited by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors. Offered both full-time or part-time as an MSc, PgDip or PgCert, the programme is delivered through a means of lectures, seminars and tutorials, coupled with lab and group fieldwork. Core and optional courses include Remote Sensing, Terrain Modelling, Application development in GIS and Terrestrial laser scanning.
