The Centre for Space Science and Technology Education for Asia Pacific (CSSTEAP) in India is organizing a short course on Disaster Damage and Loss Assessment in Natural Heritage and Cultural Sites using Geospatial Techniques from September 11, 2016 to October 02, 2016 at the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), ISRO, in Dehradun, India.
The short course is being jointly organized by CSSTEAP and the UNESCO Category 2 Centre on World Natural Heritage Management and Training for the Asia and the Pacific Region. It will be jointly conducted by the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing and the Wildlife Institute of India (WII).
CSSTEAP has been imparting training in Space Science & Technology for the past 20 years, whereas UNESCO C2C Centre is recently established within the campus of the Wildlife Institute of India with an objective to strengthen the implementation of the World Heritage Convention in Asia and the Pacific Region by building the capacity of all those professionals and bodies involved with world natural heritage site registration, protection, conservation and management through training, research, dissemination of information and network building.
The official language of the short course will be English. Deadline for applications is 20 August 2016.
