An Emergency Operation Centre-EOC was established by The Government Relief and Resettlement Department (RRD) at the Rakhine Disasters Management Office in Sittway, Rakhine State in June 2018. EOC is a prioritized activity in the Myanmar Action Plan for Disaster Risk Reduction (MAPDRR) under component 4 (Preparedness and Response Programs). EOC enables the people in townships to have an access to weather reports in real time so that they could take preventive measures in reducing disaster risks.
