Earth observation satellites of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) are monitoring the Earth's surface to detect the changes in the global environment and human society related to COVID-19.
The "JAXA for Earth on COVID-19" site introduces the latest observation and analysis results. It provides an overview about changes in socio-economic activities, for instance with regards to airports and shipping, as well as about changes in the natural environment through satellite-derived information on greenhouse gas emissions.
In addition, JAXA is collaboration with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the European Space Agency (ESA) in utilizing Earth observation related to COVID-19. The results of that cooperation can be accessed through the joint Earth observation dashboard.
