As the diplomatic representative of the State, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides the Guatemalan nationality and ensures compliance of the Migration Legislation. It delineates and preserves the boundaries of the national territory and negotiates and safeguards international treaties and conventions. It also defends the interests of the country and formulates integration and cooperation politics and agreements, among many other functions.
