Airbus Defence and Space and the Japanese PASCO Corporation have recently made an agreement that will reinforce their long-term cooperation in Satellite Data distribution.
As part of the agreement Airbus Defence and Space is selling its subsidiary Tokyo Spot Image KK to PASCO Corporation, a subsidiary that has been aiming at the civilian market, especially in the mapping, agriculture, and forestry sectors. On the other hand, PASCO Corporation will have a new distribution agreement with Airbus Defence and Space for a SPOT 6/7 Direct Receiving Station with associated data distribution rights.
The agreement will allow PASCO to take full advantage of the Airbus Defence and Space constellation of four optical and two radar satellites. The SPOT 6/7 will be added to PASCO's existing Pleiades and TerraSAR-X DRS, thereby enhancing its portfolio of geospatial services available to its institutional and commercial clients.
PASCO is a Japan-based geospatial company that provides information necessary for decision-making on disaster management in case of large-scale disasters, such as earthquakes, volcanic activities, and floods and agricultural and environmental solutions.
