EvIDENz Project Presents Mid-Term Results

The project on Earth Observation Based Information Products for Drought Risk Reduction at the National Level (EvIDENz) conducted a workshop from 21 to 22 September at the United Nations Campus in Bonn to present its mid-term results. The event brought together project partners, scientists, policy-makers, practitioners and representatives of governmental institutions.

2017 Global Platform: UN-SPIDER's Engagement in Promoting Science and Technology in the Implementation of the Sendai Framework

The United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), through its UN-SPIDER programme, co-chaired the working session on Science and Technology for Disaster Risk Reduction at the 2017 Global Platform on Disaster Risk Reduction, which began on 22 May 2017 in Cancun, Mexico. The session focused on the contribution of science and technology to achieving the 2020 Sendai target on national and sub-national DRR strategies and took place on Thursday 25 May 2017, 11:15-12:45, at Arena E.

Second EvIDENz Project Workshop Successfully Concluded in Ukraine

The partners of the EvIDENz project conducted the second stakeholder workshop entitled “Earth observation-based information products for drought risk on a national basis”. The workshop was conducted in Kyiv, Ukraine, on December 6, 2016. Partners involved in the organization of the workshop included the Space Research Institute (NASU-SSAU) of the Ukraine, the Remote Sensing Center (ZFL) of the University of Bonn, UNU-EHS, and UN-SPIDER.

EvIDENz Project Workshop in South Africa

The partners of the EvIDENz project conducted the stakeholder workshop entitled “Earth observation-based information products for drought risk on a national basis”. The workshop was conducted in East London, South Africa, from 2 to 3 November 2016. Partners involved in the organization of the workshop included DiMTEC of the University of the Free State (UFS), the Remote Sensing Center (ZFL) of the University of Bonn, UNU-EHS, and UN-SPIDER.
