The African Association for Geospatial Development (AGEOS) is a non-profit organization established to promote the use of geospatial technologies, Earth Observation (EO), and GeoAI for sustainable development.

Based in Tunisia, AGEOS operates at regional and international levels, collaborating with academic institutions, governmental bodies, international organizations, and private sector partners. Its scope includes capacity building, applied research, innovation, and operational support in areas such as climate change adaptation, environmental monitoring, and risk management.

As a UN-SPIDER Regional Support Office, AGEOS contributes to strengthening the use of space-based information for disaster management in North Africa and beyond.

The UN-SPIDER Regional Support Office (RSO) in Algeria is hosted by the Algerian Space Agency (Agence Spatiale Algerienne, ASAL). It was established during the third African Leadership Conference on Space Science and Technology for Sustainable Development on 7 December 2009 in Algiers.

This RSO, which covers both North Africa and the Sahel region, was established as a part of the Central Agency for Civil Protection. In case of an emergency, it will liaise between the end-users of space-based information and the Algerian Space Agency, which will act as a value-adder to space-derived data.

El Centro Regional de Cartografía de Recursos para el Desarrollo (RCMRD) y la Oficina de las Naciones Unidas para Asuntos del Espacio Ultraterrestre (UNOOSA) firmaron un acuerdo de cooperación con motivo del Taller Regional de ONU-SPIDER - "Building Upon Regional Space-based Solutions for Disaster Management and Emergency Response for Africa" en Addis Abeba el miércoles 7 de julio de 2010.

Esto convierte a la RCMRD en el noveno miembro de la red de Oficinas Regionales de Apoyo que apoyan la ejecución de las actividades del programa ONU-SPIDER en sus respectivas regiones de forma coordinada aprovechando los conocimientos y capacidades que se ofrecen.

The Regional Center for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD) and the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) signed a cooperation agreement on the occasion of the UN-SPIDER Regional Workshop – “Building Upon Regional Space-based Solutions for Disaster Management and Emergency Response for Africa” in Addis Ababa on Wednesday, 7 July 2010.

This makes RCMRD the ninth member of the network of Regional Support Offices which support the implementation of the activities of the UN-SPIDER programme in their respective regions in a coordinated manner by taking advantage of the expertise and capabilities being offered.

Le Bureau Régional d'Appui (BRA) d’ONU-SPIDER en Algérie est opéré  par l’Agence Spatiale Algérienne (ASAL). Il a été mis en place au cours de la Troisième Conférence des Dirigeants Africains sur la Science et la Technologie Spatiales pour le Développement Durable le 7 décembre 2009 à Alger.

Ce BRA qui couvre à la fois l'Afrique du Nord et la région du Sahel a été créé sous la coordination de l'Agence Centrale de la Protection Civile. En cas d'urgence, il servira de liaison entre les utilisateurs finaux d'informations spatiales et l'Agence Spatiale Algérienne qui agira en tant que valorisateur (value-adder) des informations spatiales.

La Agencia Espacial Argelina (Agence Spatiale Algerienne, ASAL) alberga la Oficina Regional de Apoyo (RSO) de ONU-SPIDER en Argelia. Se estableció durante la tercera Conferencia de Líderes Africanos sobre Ciencia y Tecnología Espaciales para el Desarrollo Sostenible, celebrada el 7 de diciembre de 2009 en Argel.

Esta RSO, que cubre tanto el norte de África como la región del Sahel, se creó como parte de la Agencia Central de Protección Civil. En caso de emergencia, servirá de enlace entre el usuario final y la Agencia Espacial Argelina, que actuará en calidad de catalizador de los datos satelitales.
