The Department of Surveys, commonly known as Survey of Kenya (SOK), is the official agency of the government of Kenya on all matters affecting land surveys and mapping. It has been in existence since 1903 and is one of the oldest Departments in the country. The department is responsible for national surveying and mapping. It is also the national focal point of GIS and Remote Sensing with representation in the Global Mapping Project organised by the International Steering Committee for Global Mapping (ISCGM). The head of the department is the Director of survey.
